“How Many Days Forward Could You Live
 If You Stopped Working Today?”

By Mark Matteson

“How Many Days Forward Could Live If You Stopped Working Today?”
That is a line from my newest book “Freedom From Fear FOREVER” www.ffffbook.com It was a rock in my shoe for months until I DID SOMETHING ABOUT IT! (It actually was first attributed to Buckminster Fuller, Mark Victor Hansen’s first mentor. He was a genius. A Renaissance Man.)

December of 2004 I received a $10,000 check from my publisher.
In the past I would have taken my family on a very nice vacation. There was one little problem. I read one too many books. I had just finished Robert Kiyosaki’s Runaway International Best Seller, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”

It was time to change. Have you ever had one of those “Ah-hah” moments?
You know, somehow you came across some unsettling information at a seminar, in a book or in a conversation with a friend or mentor that left you a changed person….that was me just before Christmas in 2004. It was time.

Armed with the information from two books, a desire to change our long term financial situation, we drove around looking for the worse house in the nicest neighborhood to flip (a real estate term that means you buy a “Sow’s Ear and Turn It Into a Silk Purse”) In one afternoon, we found our jewel in the rough. What a dump! We paid too much, (near full price offer, it had been on the market a month, and it was a sellers market). They said yes.
We went to work. 4-months later, we sold it to a very nice woman going through a divorce. You see, Real Estate is simply another way to help people solve problems. She was sooo grateful and so were we!

Our Net Profit was over $30,000! We were dumber than a bag of hammers. We did everything wrong and we still made a profit! Real Estate = :^)

I was so excited, I kept reading every book I could find on Real Estate and Biographies of people who had made their fortunes in Real Estate from the money they earned doing what they loved (Copy Business, Body Building, Acting, Speaking, et. All) I took another action that was central to the net worth goal achievement: I filled out a “Dashboard Decree” (see the FREE Special Report) on put it on the dashboard of my car, in my planner, in my journal and as a book mark on the books I was reading. I also kept talking to friends and mentors that were already doing what I wanted to do (many thanks to: Kevin Thomas-Web Genius, Chuck Orton-Owner of MM Comfort Systems, Alex Carney-Former Publisher Contracting Business, Patricia Fripp-Speaker, Renee Kerckhoff – Owner of Rudroff Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc.)

I declared my new Real Estate Decree every day, 5-10 times a day aloud. Then, 3-months later? Magic! You see the REASON I wanted this goal was to teach my 3-boys, Colin, Evan and Larod “Financial Literacy” and how to be wealthy by age 30! Emotional Reasons pull us to the future…(Thanks Dan Holohan!)

Since then we have purchase two single family houses and rented them out.
We recently invested in our first 4-plex…(“Kil the Lanlaud” Eddie Murphy SNL, “Mr. Robinson’s Neighborhood boys and girls!) Amazing.

Here is the point. If my wife and I can do this in less than three years, ANYONE CAN! Man I love this country! I have told this story many times in my seminars. My passive income grows each month, right along with my net worth. “How Many Days Forward Could Live If You Stopped Working Today?”

Many of you have asked me for a list of the books so here ya go! Good reading and remember to “Enjoy the Journey.” Life is short.

Short and Sweet is coming....

How Big is Your Pumpkin?

A farmer won a ribbon at the state fair for the most unusual looking pumpkin. It was in the exact shape of a five gallon jug.

After the prizes were handed out, and most of the people had left the fair, one of the judges pulled the farmer aside and asked, “How were you able to create a pumpkin like that?” The farmer paused a moment, smiled, and told a story.

“It was late August, the pumpkin plants were just starting to show signs of life, and there were tiny pumpkins growing from the vines. Someone had thrown a five-gallon glass jug from the road and, miraculously, it had not broken. I saw that as a sign. Just for fun, I inserted a tiny pumpkin in the narrow mouth of the jug. It just fit. Then I forgot about it until harvest time. All the pumpkins grew to their normal size – some, much larger. The one in the pumpkin grew only to the shape of the five-gallon jug and no larger. I merely smashed the glass and brought the five-gallon pumpkin in. I never dreamed it would win a prize.”

The size of our thinking is just like that pumpkin. Some of only think in one, two or five gallon jugs. Some people, however, think in terms of 10-, 20-, even 100-gallon jugs.

How BIG is your thinking? I hope it’s bigger than five gallons!

Now just released: "13 Secrets of World-Class Goal Achievers". Click for your fr*e*e copy!

PLANNING ON KEEPING YOUR NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS? According to Purdue University, and most experts, it’s not only important to have written goals, but you must have a plan to reach your goals.

Goals 2006 is the complete program to help you "create a life on purpose." Will 2006 be just another ho-hum year that started with good intentions? Or will it be YOUR Year! Your year to lose that weight you're tired of carrying...start that business you've been talking about...get out of debt for good. Are you tired of being stuck in the same gear?

Go see why one program graduate, Lucy O. said, "Breaking through, or at least finally recognizing, what my barrier is with writing goals, is a MAJOR accomplishment - one I've been trying to find for over 15 years! And I finally got it - I GOT IT!" Click Here

 The Wire's Conduit

This months Wire tip is pretty simple: Change the batteries in your smoke detector! No really you should change them twice a year. Once when day light savings starts (for most of use) an once when we fall back in October. My wonderful wife pointed out that I got an extra hour on Sunday morning so I put it to good use and did an all points safety check for my house and garage. I checked things like fire extinguishers when I was running around changing all the clocks. My young son did want to be a fire fighter when he grows up, I just don't want him calling on my house.
