I want to thank you for the terrific classes you have instructed for me and my dealers. I had 4 dealers in Milwaukee this week and they enjoyed you very much.
Mark, for me attending the last THREE BTU classes you instructed has been like a huge shot of adrenalin. Just as you have met & read about people you admire, I put you at the top of my list of people who have inspired me and continue to do so. Dear Mark,

I wanted to write you and let you know how much I have enjoyed the material I received from your York training class. I have been able to put a lot of the ideas in to use here lately. I have especially enjoyed your book and CD Freedom from Fear. This book touched me tremendously. Your book broadened my understanding and enlightened me to new ways “to practice these principles in all my affairs”. I felt this was a very intimate story and thank you for sharing it with me.

As for the e-book “Succeeding at Work”, the information in the book allowed me to negotiate a very satisfactory compensation package with my current employer. I will continue to read and journal with the material you have provided. I have already started putting some of the practices in place.

Thank you again for the great guidance, Len would be very proud.

I want you to know how much I appreciate your seminar. You are doing a great service in awakening the minds of those who have been walking threw life with blinders on. Thank-you.

As soon as I got in my truck I put in  "Freedom From Fear" CD. I have listen too it twice. Then I went to Borders books to buy "Fortune at Your Feet" just to find out that it is out of print. I found "Rich Dad, Poor Dad". I listened to that and am now listening to "Freedom From Fear" for the third time.

I feel this is a life changing point in my life. I find that my conversations have changed too. I now focus on goals in areas that were void of any direction.

As you were speaking the other day I kept thinking to my self everything you were saying was exactly how the company owners interact in society and in business.

Hi Mark,

I got to thinking of you when I heard your name mentioned at a UPG meeting I attended yesterday. They were pitching their BTU school and you were part of the “commercial”. You would be proud that I used that opportunity to point out to the group that you visited our company in October and I thought very highly of your teaching skills.

Anyway, I thought I would take this opportunity to let you know that I truly enjoyed your presentation. I have put many of your suggestions into action and I believe they have helped in my recent successes. In fact, since you left I have closed 12 of the 15 scheduled maintenance agreements I have proposed (in fact I am expecting 1 more of the 15 to close by mid-December). I am currently OVER goal by 10% and expect to be at least 20% over by the end of the year. Not bad for my first year I’d say. Here is a list of what I believe to be the most valuable things I have implemented since you left:

Listen (count to 5 before speaking) – This can be a challenge.
Show value in your product (I WAS NOT the lowest bidder on several of the contracts I sold in the last couple of months!!)
Pictures (I now present via a 3 ring binder with a picture of their building in front & pictures of their equipment inside) They love it!
Letters (I now send letters after phone calls confirming meetings or 2nd phone calls). Very professional and they know who you are when you call back.

P.S. I enjoyed your 1st book. I even got a little teary at the end.

On December 8th, 2005 we were fortunate enough to have Mark Matteson be our Keynote Speaker at our 2006 York Dealer Meeting in Michigan. Mark’s riveting talk on selling strategies was widely complimented on by our Dealers in attendance and I am sure will be a source of reference for them as we continue our business relationships.

Not only did Mark touch on several different “choices” that York has to offer but how our Dealers can use these choices to their advantage, along with adding service agreements, IAQ products, etc. to have a more complete offering to the homeowner that no one else in the industry can do and can put them apart from their competition as a leading Heating & Cooling Dealer! He raised the level of excitement in our Dealers with his “edu-taining” discussion and helped them to take a look at themselves and what they were doing within their companies on how they could do better. Since 2006 will be a year of significant changes in this industry, Mark gave our Dealers common sense ideas to put in place now.

Mark, you definitely fulfilled my expectations to excite and entertain my Dealers and make our Dealer Meeting stand out in their minds as a Class Act! I consider our Meeting a great success and owe it all to you – it will be hard to do any kind of a follow-up meeting without you!! I want to thank you from the “bottom of my heart” for your enthusiasm and insight that you brought to our Dealers, it has truly been a pleasure working with you and I look forward to your continued contribution to our entire Midwest Branch.
