Monthly Mentoring Offer:

Beginning January 15, 2008, I will be offering a unique new way of working with my clients. This idea was born out of a client conversation with a small business owner that had seen me present numerous times. We enjoyed a lunch and dinner together on separate occasions. We had become friends. He enjoyed my monthly e-zines and over a 6-month period would send me an email to stay in touch.

He is a serious entrepreneur doing less than $5,000,000 a year in revenue. It was clear from our conversations and emails he wanted access to me, my experience and those of my clients, but simply, at this time, could not afford to bring me out on site. As we continued to dialogue and discuss his unique situation, I blurted out, “What if we simply scheduled a teleconference for an hour or two, and you would have access to me in between with no limits (within reason) until you get through this challenging time?” He replied, “Do you take Visa?”

Over the next few months, I would casually mention this to other clients who hinted at the same kind of relationship, though not in so many words. The question I have learned to ask is, “There is a reason you asked that question, do you mind if I ask what it is?” It doesn’t matter if it’s a seemingly innocuous email, a harmless question after a seminar or a kind letter about one of my books, there is always a reason behind the contact. I am learning to really listen to the meaning behind the words, to dig a little deeper.

Another small business owner ($3,000,000/year) said to me, after I had spoken to his company gathering, “I didn’t know you offered Consulting and Coaching. Let’s talk further.” That is what this is all about. Those of you who want to talk further.
